As Kingston Business Owners, we believe the Kingston Buy Local movement is critical to our community and local economy. Our goal
is to make "locally owned" something that both residents, visitors and merchants alike, consider

- To build and stregethen the Kingston Community.
- To develop a coalition of locally-owned independent businesses, citizens, and community organizers to support Local Kingston Businesses.

- To prevent the displacement of community-based businesses by national and global chains.
- To restore a "sense" of Community to Kingston that has been lost by the chain stores displacing locally-owned businesses.
- To help locally owned independent businesses to succeed, ensure continued opportunities for entrepreneurs, and reverse the trend of chains or other "absentee-owned" operators from displacing community-based businesses.
- To use shared resources to obtain our objectives while creating a stronger community.
- To draw the customer and local businesses closer to the community values in oder to effect a change in spending practices.
- To help level the playing field and bring to Kingston's Independently Owned Businesses some of the market advantages chain stores enjoy.
- To reach out to community supporters and instill a sense of pride in shopping locally and independently in Kingston.
- To develop "Community Self-Determination" - to take back the community and make the decisions that impact our community.
